I'm a gay man, but recently my little sister came out as a bi to me, that... I wasn't expecting that at all, yet she still remains as my only friend. She once told me, years before this, that she wouldn't date anyone, too complicated and frustrating. At first, I assumed it was with straight men, and how messy they are. But now, seeing this vid, I know the challenges of bisexuals... hell, I don't share completely her point of view, but now I understand it more. This vid clarified some points to me. I never understood this prejudice against bisexuals, as a gay man, I would date a bisexual man, yes, as long as he genuinely wants me and is not closeted (I've been in the closet long enough. Not anymore) yet I read about lesbians and their bias against bi women... sigh, it's so sad. I want her to find someone that loves her, but every day that passes I'm beginning to agree with her.

I think a scene in 'Chasing Amy' illustrated it best, when Amy told her lesbian friends that she found a new partner and he was a man. "We lost another one..." one woman groused. There was a real sense of betrayal and hurt coming from the other woman. And I get it. When you circle the wagons against a hostile world for so long, anything seen as hopping over to the other side is going to feel incredibly personal. But I, a Bi-male, have a counter argument. Why are we trying to act like THEM? Being all standoffish, cliquish, and hostile to outsiders? Sure, it might have protected us in the past, but now it's ramped up to 11, and being so hostile to outsiders is making the queer community look hypocritical and no more mature than the average high-schooler. This nonsense has to stop or we'll never feel accepted and included into society. The best we can hope for is a parallel yet separate existence. This is also why I feel so disconnected from any communities. Because I'm Bi I'm not trusted and heavily stereotyped. Straight people see me as gay, gay people see me as straight, nobody trusts me to be on their side and everyone thinks I'll jump ship to the next set of tits/balls that comes my way. But again, like in Amy in Chasing Amy, it's a lot more complicated than that, and everyone's got their heads so far up their asses they can't see from our own Bi perspective. So I'm fine with not being accepted anywhere. Better to be authentic than to be accepted.

I saw on a social media post that she identifies as a queer. Her home has a rainbow flag. She has short hair which I love. I think I’m a good looking guy. She was breath taking when I saw her. And I could swear she gave few signals that she was attracted to me. I have her number due to some gig work. So I texted her. All compliments I made got a “you are so sweet” reply but nothing more. What the hell is queer? Is it same as gay? There is no chance she would like a man?

And unfortunately It wasn't until I watched her "History of Queer" video where she took some...very ahistorical liberties that I realized something about her brand of lesbianism was maybe not so inclusive of people who aren't white and cis. She even had some shady comments toward bisexual people. In any case I'm glad to have found your channel!
